I've been doing a lot of searching for a subwoofer box for an 05+ tacoma access cab that houses a single subwoofer and retains the use of both rear seats. I've turned up the following designs in my search and thought that I'd share them in case everyone else needs ideas. If you comment on a particular box, please be sure to mention the box #

I'm going to try and see if I can't do something that's a cross between #13 and #1. I want it to house a single 10" JL Audio 10W3v3 but still look clean, be easily removeable and retain access to both back seats and storage compartments.

BOX NUMBER ONE: Houses a single 8" sub firing down:

BOX NUMBER TWO (oops...this isn't an 05+ but oh well):

BOX NUMBER THREE:

BOX NUMBER FOUR: (extremekreations door panels http://www.xtremekreations.com/fabrication.html). Requires cutting of factory door panels.

BOX NUMBER FOURTEEN:

BOX NUMBER FIFTEEN:
A box that houses a single 10" sub that replaces the factory console (no cutting of console required):

BOX NUMBER SIXTEEN:
The new JL Audio stealth box. It has been released, but at $600, I think it's out of my price range....and you need to cut up your console to install it (Installation Instructions (http://jsnby.is-a-geek.com/shared_docs/SB_T_TACACCAB_10W3v3.pdf)):

I had a 1991 x-cab...i had 2 10" subs in a huge bandpass box that took up both back seats...other than that, I haven't really looked. I always thought about building something for that truck, but I just bought a pre-made bandpass box instead.

#4 you end up cutting door panels. #5 you have to move the box to access the under-seat storage.

Guess they all have their pros and cons......when I build mine, i'll post up pics.

I'd go route #9. Maybe run just one 8" or 10" rather than loosing both storage compartments. Or run one sub and mount the amp in the other compartment.
