A reman'd is cheaper than a rebuild kit from the stealership.... thoughts? Some people say it's not worth dropping any money on a reman'd caliper. But it's cheaper. You see my dilemma! :)

i dont mind reman as long as it is done to spec. most have warenty that is just as long as a new one...why not upgrade to a more piston for stoping power.

Good idea. I'll have to look into what trucks used a larger caliper.... maybe the V6 or Tundra did.

what truck is this going on? your runrun? only upgrade you can really do with that if it doesnt already is go to a V6 IFS caliper and use a pair of FJ60 rotors. then step up your master cylinder to a fj80 MC.
caliper - $119 (ea)
rotor - $39 (ea)
MC - $129

Yeah, the 4runner. It's already got 4 piston calipers. It's a DLX (read: base model) not the SR5... don't know if the V6 or SR5 had larger pistons or different calipers. There is a 2nd generation MC that Chris recommended to me... something about a duel diaphragm setup. What year/model was that from Chris?
I think for now I'm gonna go reman'd replacements. Over all it's cheaper and I've dumped a bunch of money into the runner lately and my wallet is starting to hurt. Gotta save some money for wheeling trips!
