today I changed my spark plugs in the montero with some help from my brother and my friend, it was a pain in the ass but we got it done. and THANK GOD! Here are photos of the old ones:

the picture was taken with my phone, it is all I have at the moment, if you guys need more detail, I can take more pictures, but you can pretty much get the jist of what happened, they may be the original spark plugs

It's hard to tell exactly how gross they look from those photos.

What brand/type did you replace them with?

I believe they were ngk, the ones pictured here are the same company but I believe these are platinum tipped. I will get pictures with a real camera later today. essentially, they are silver when they are new, these are dirty black and like half missing...

Ok cool. NGK makes good stuff. And I would guess that the factory ones were platinum as well.

The insulator and electrode look worn down for sure just due to the cone shape but it;s really hard to tell how bad from those pics.
